Hidamari ("sunny spot") thread is used for Sashiko, a traditional Japanese art of functional embroidery developed to strengthen, mend, patch, and quilt, and embellish everyday items with a simple stitch to create fun geometric patterns.

This speckled thread is dyed with colorful dots on a white base to appear as Japanese traditional Ten-Kasuri fabric. Also great for making a tassel! It's smooth and not easily frayed.
